Music Playgroups
Music Playgroups
Our music program structure
Our lessons are thoughtfully divided into four structured sessions, each full of musical adventure and a distinct learning focus. In the first lesson, children sing, move, and play as they explore the song with lively body movement and props. In the second session, we introduce an instrument to decorate and enrich the melody, followed by another in the third session to make the music even fuller. The final class brings everyone together for a joyful ensemble, blending sounds, teamwork, and creativity!

🎶 Building musical awareness and ensemble skills
After learning solfège (do–re–mi), children begin exploring music symbols and expressing them through instruments
We simplify music notation by using colorful balls to represent notes, placing them on stair-step charts to show pitch—making it fun and easy to understand while preparing for future staff notation learning
With a basic grasp of solfège and notes, children play simple melodies and join ensemble activities using Orff instruments (such as glockenspiels and xylophones) to develop musicality
Ensemble playing sharpens their sense of rhythm, focus, and teamwork
🎵 Building strong foundations and discovering musical interests
Learn melodica, ukulele, percussion, singing, dance, and basic music theory
Explore a variety of instruments—keyboard, wind, strings, and percussion—helping parents discover their child’s natural musical interests
Use singing and dancing to experience making music with the whole body
Gain an introduction to staff notation, preparing children for future music reading
Develop creativity through Orff activities such as ensemble playing and improvisation
